The tendency of describing the world in “computational terms” is an emergent byproduct of the creation of computational systems, not only have computers augmented human beings capacity to disseminate and acquire information their continual mastery has brought forth some truly profound paradigm shifts in how human beings conceptualize themselves, their environment and the relationship between the two. Applications of deep meditation on thought shifting languages (such as decision theory, game theory, probability theory) to longstanding puzzles in philosophy and metaphysics has given rise to complete re-descriptions of reality as in fact the pure product of computational activity. One of the…

In the last entry I gave a short overview of some important concepts that make up Christopher Langan’s Cognitive Theoretic Model of the Universe. In this part we will be keeping things as simple as possible as we break down one of the three axioms (principles) that the CTMU is based on, they are (respectively) the Mind equals reality principle (M=R), the Metaphysical Autology principle (MAP) and the Multiplex Unity Princible (MU). I hope the explanation is intelligible and easy to understand.
The mind equals reality principle (M=R) asserts that in order for your mind to intelligibly represent external reality…
